If you've been following sports in Malaysia over the past few years, you've probably noticed that cricket is no longer just a game played on school fields or kampung grounds. With over 1.5 million Malaysians of South Asian heritage, combined with the explosive popularity of the IPL through live broadcasts and social media, cricket has become a genuine part of the country's sporting landscape. And at mikey88, we recognise cricket's growing popularity by offering Malaysia's most comprehensive cricket betting platform.
What makes cricket betting at mikey88 is the sheer depth of available markets. It goes well beyond win/loss or series winner โ you can bet on virtually every aspect of a match in fine detail. How many runs will be scored in the first over? Who will be Man of the Match? What's the run rate during the Power Play? Markets like these are what make cricket betting at mikey88 so immersive and rewarding for those who truly follow and understand the sport.
The Indian Premier League, or IPL, is the world's most popular and most valuable T20 cricket tournament. Each season features over 70 matches played from April through May, bringing together the best cricketers from around the globe. At mikey88, every IPL match comes with over 200 betting markets โ from match winner, runs per over, and top scorer, to first wicket-taker and innovative bets like "Who Scores 50+ This Innings" or "How Many Sixes in the Power Play".
Since IPL matches are played in the evening India time (roughly 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST, which translates to 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM Malaysian time), they fit perfectly into the schedule of Malaysian players who tend to be most active at night. You can watch the match and place bets simultaneously through the in-play interface. mikey88 updated in real time.
Many people don't realise that Malaysia has an active international cricket team competing at the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) level. The Harimau Malaya squad โ as they are known โ has made impressive strides in recent years, defeating teams such as the UAE, Nepal, and Singapore across various regional tournaments.
At mikey88, we give special attention to Malaysia matches. When Malaysia plays, you'll find broader markets and more competitive odds than on other platforms. It's our way of supporting Malaysian cricket and giving local fans the chance to show their support while having the potential to win.
A T20 cricket match lasts around 3 hours, with 20 overs per innings. That means a new over begins every 4โ5 minutes โ and with in-play betting at mikey88, you can bet on each over individually. How many runs will be scored this over? Will a wicket fall? These Over-by-Over markets are hugely popular among experienced cricket bettors because the odds shift rapidly as the match situation changes.
Picture India falling behind on the run rate with a new batter just walking in. The odds for an India win might spike briefly โ that's exactly the right moment to step in with a smart bet. The edge of in-play betting at mikey88 is that odds are updated on nearly every ball, and you can confirm your bet in under 3 seconds.
mikey88 covers all three major cricket formats:
Each format has its own dynamics and calls for a different betting strategy. Experienced bettors typically specialise in one or two formats to gain a sharper edge. At mikey88, you can explore all formats and find the one that best suits your betting style.

Insights from experienced players who love cricket
A damp pitch favours bowlers. Overcast conditions in England aid swing bowling. These are crucial factors to consider before betting on run totals.
A key player injury can dramatically shift the balance of a match. Check the latest line-up before the odds are locked in.
Some teams have a strong record against certain opponents. This often provides a small but consistent edge in betting.
Many bettors place too much weight on the toss result. Team quality matters far more than who wins the toss, except in extreme pitch conditions.
Place in-play bets when a strong team is in a tough spot โ the odds are better and comeback potential is often higher than the displayed odds suggest.
Follow the Harimau Malaya on the international stage
Malaysian cricket is often underestimated, even though our team has achieved considerable success at the regional level. In recent years, the Malaysia T20 side has outperformed teams like the UAE and Singapore, proving that cricket in this country is very much on the rise.
